One of
very few quality villas (which was recently completed), which
can accommodate a large party or a family get-to-gather in
great style! Villa Cantik can only be accessed by private
road, & is located in close proximity to both Istana Semer
& The Rice Terrace Villas.
The property is entered via a
traditional Balinese gateway from the car park.
Stepping stones (which are set amidst a dozen (dwarf) Balinese
coconut palms pave the way through a developing garden. Upon
entering the villa, the open-plan living area is impressively
spacious, i.e. measures (approximately) 10 m x 13 m.
The two ground floor bedrooms,
both of which are air-conditioned are entered from the living
room. They share a central garden bathroom, which features
twin washbasins, a bath, separate shower recess & a
western toilet.
There are two first floor (fan
cooled) open-plan areas, which are accessed by two different
stairwells. The bamboo railed staircase that leads from the
right hand side of the villa’s entrance leads to the fan
cooled TV/Reading room, which is furnished with a comfortable
3-seater antique sofa, an opium (Chinese) bed (alternatively
extra bed), a desk (garden views) & TV and a
(multi-system) video.
The antique doorway on the left hand side of the villa’s
entrance opens to a spiral staircase that leads to the only
upstairs (fan cooled) bedroom.
It is worthy mentioning that at
the base of the stairs the same door (which is entered from
the living room) is also the access point to the (villa’s)
second garden bathroom, which services both the occupants of
this upstairs’ bedroom, & is also the most convenient
(service) bathroom for general/day use.
The upstairs bedroom is
furnished with a four-poster bed, with canopy (& mosquito
net). A ceiling fan is positioned above the bed. Additionally
there is a delightfully (& wide) comfortable antique sofa
& a desk (which has rice field views to the south).
This bedroom enjoys cool
breezes throughout the day, which emanate from the surrounding
rice fields.
Kitchen - is well equipped & features a large fridge (with
freezer), stove/oven & loads of bench space. Quality
dinner & glassware is sufficient for 10 people.
The dining area is situated in an alcove adjacent to kitchen
and seats 10.
There is also a round breakfast
table in the N.W. corner of the living area, which overlooks
the pool & garden.
Pool - is oval shaped
& is lined with green (Flores) tiles. In closest proximity
to the villa’s back door, a children’s wading pool (which
has a depth of 30 cm) is partitioned/recessed from the main
pool by large boulders. At the far side of the pool, there is
a small pergola (bale bengong). On the other sides of the pool
there are shallow sitting/wading areas.
The pool has a maximum depth of
just over 2,00 meters. A large antique sofa (which is shaded
by two umbrellas) serves the purpose of traditional pool/deck
chairs.
Guest Cottage - is
clearly visible from the front lawn, when entering the
property. Herein, there are three additional double (fan
cooled) bedrooms; one is located downstairs & two
upstairs. These three bedrooms are serviced by one (ground
floor) bathroom. There is also an open-plan living area, which
has views of the (front) garden & the villa (proper).
The Lumbung - There are
two other detached building, which are situated close to the
main entrance gate, provides guests with the possibility of an
extra double bed in each Lumbung. It should however be noted
that this bedroom is not of the same standard as the other
bedrooms.
