| Total Living Area: |
150 m2 |

Villa 2 comprises three buildings – an
open-sided living and dining pavilion, an elevated relaxation
pavilion and a third building that houses two bedrooms, each
with an en-suite garden bathroom.
The villa is entered via a set of double
antique doors leading from a small courtyard. Here, two
Balinese statues rest in a serene lotus pond, with three
trickling water spouts.
Six towering coconut palms line the garden of
the villa, which is walled on three sides and dominated by a
raised, open-sided living and dining pavilion. This raised
pavilion features a soaring ‘alang alang’ thatched roof
supported by coconut wood pillars above a cream terrazzo
floor. Ceiling fans and gentle breezes keep this area cool,
and it is furnished with cushioned wicker sofas and chairs, a
coffee table, and a dining table with comfortable sofa
seating. The pavilion also integrates an open-plan
kitchenette, for the use of the guests on those occasions when
they might not require waiter/waitress service from the main
Tamu Seseh service-kitchen. The kitchenette is located behind
a black terrazzo bar and is complete with a gas hob, fridge,
microwave, toaster, kettle, crockery and cutlery. Inside the
fitted cupboards, guests will also find a stereo CD/cassette
player. High stools line the bar, which is ornamented with
colored tiles.
In the garden, a white Palimanan stone patio
is furnished with four pool loungers and two umbrellas beside
a 12 x 4 meter lap pool; a barbeque is situated behind the
umbrellas. A timber walkway runs across the flat lawn, and one
end of the garden – unbroken by walls or borders – opens into
the rice fields. Primitive-style Indonesian wood carvings add
to the character of the magnificent setting.
A flight of steps leads up to the top storey
of the elevated balé relaxation pavilion. Complete with timber
deck and encompassed by a wooden balustrade with a built-in
cushioned sofa, this enchanting relaxation pavilion literally
overhangs the rice fields. Guests will be treated to a
magnificent view of rural Bali, through coconut groves to the
crashing surf of the Indian Ocean. The upper storey of the
balé is furnished with a tiled table and a TV cabinet with
satellite TV and DVD player. A telephone is provided so that
guests can order food and drinks without having to move. There
is additional poolside seating on the lower deck of the balé,
where there is also a toilet and outdoor shower.
The two bedrooms are accessed by a pair of
bridges over a bulrush pond. Each air-conditioned bedroom is a
mirror image of the other featuring a cool terrazzo floor, a
canopied queen-size four-poster bed and a cushioned daybed.
Sliding glass doors allow the cool breezes to permeate and
ceiling fans provide additional comfort. A fitted cupboard
houses a safe deposit box, a chest of drawers and ample
hanging space. Local artwork adorns the walls and boat-shaped
lamps illuminate the pitched roof. Double antique doors lead
from each bedroom into the en-suite garden bathrooms. Almost
identical, each is set within a private walled courtyard
complete with a rustic table and seat. ‘His and hers’
washbasins with freestanding circular mirrors rest upon grey
terrazzo washstands, sheltered by the eaves of the roof and
garnished with mother of pearl sea shells. Each garden
bathroom is planted with shrubs, ferns, palms and heliconias,
and boasts a sunken green tiled bathtub approached by four
steps below a decoratively carved plaque. Stepping stones lead
across loose pebbles to an outdoor shower, its wall set with
colourful textured tiles. Last but not least, the toilet is
hidden in a sheltered corner.
A connecting door links Villa 2 to Villa 3,
providing a four-bedroom facility, if required.
